Aditya Chopra is the youngest and one of the most successful directors scriptwriter and producer in Bollywood; older son of Yash, Pamela and brother of film actor Uday Chopra. Chopra was born on the star date May 21st 1971.
He started his film career by assisting Yash Chopra in Yash Raj Films’ ‘Chandni’ (1989), ‘Lamhe’ (1991) and ‘Darr’ (1993). Aditya started his career as a screenplay writer and then, after assisting his dad with ‘Parampara’ he made his debut with ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’, which became a blockbuster and played in theatres for almost a decade.
Although, part of the media industry, Aditya is an introvert and never makes any public appearances at events or awards. His younger brother Uday Chopra is an actor and was launched by Aditya in ‘Mohaabtien’. In 2001, Aditya married his childhood friend Payal Khanna; Payal is an interior designer by profession and has designed the entire swanky Yashraj studio in Andheri, Mumbai.
However, the year ended off with a good note with Saathiya. 2004 was an excellent year for him and Yash Raj Films Aditya Chopra has taken his dad’s banner Yashraj Films to new heights by producing many superhit blockbusters like ‘Dhoom’, ‘Hum Tum’, ‘Salaam Namaste’, ‘Veer Zaara’, and ‘Bunty Aur Babli’.
He was married to Payal Chopra but recently divorced. Aditya Chopra hails from one of the most well-known production houses in the film industry. The Chopra productions have a big name in the industry and when something as big as a divorce occurs in the family, the news tends to spread like wildfire. According to sources the brewing romance between Aditya and Rani started during the making of ‘Hum Tum’.The couple has become famous for their physical proximity towards each other.The two have been living at the JW Marriott hotel for a couple of months now.It is said Aditya Chopra had a hush-hush engagement with Rani Mukerji, an Indian film actress, on June 19,2007, and is planning to tie the knot soon.A commitment ceremony or "Roka" was held Monday at the Chopra bungalow in Bombay.It is also reported that about 60 people were present at the ceremony including Rani’s parents, brother and his wife.
Aditya's decision to divorce Payal, who is the daughter of a close friend of father Yash Raj, has strained relations between the father and son.Yash Raj has reportedly asked Aditya to 'move out of the business'.Tabloids also say that Yash Chopra had threatened to disinherit Aditya from the Rs 1,000 crore Yashraj Films empire if he does marry Rani.Also buzz is that after marriage Rani is not going to live in the Chopra house.
