Vidya Balan was born on January 1st 1976 in Kerala; her father is
the Vice President at ‘ETC Channel’ and her mom is a homemaker. Vidya
did her schooling at St Anthony’s Girl High School in Chembur, Mumbai
and graduated in Arts from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai.
Vidya faced the camera for the first time in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Hum
Paanch ‘in which she played one of the five sisters. Vidya also started
acting in Malayalam movies and has done many TV commercials with ad
filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar. Vidya loves classical music and is a big
devotee of Sai Baba.
Vidya also featured in many music videos directed by Pradeep Sarkar.
When Pradeep got signed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra for ‘Parineeta’, the
director insisted on casting Vidya Balan for the central character.
Vidya created a great impression in ‘Parineeta’ as the actress was
waiting for a big break for over a decade. In her career, the actress
has been romantically linked with Pradeep Sarkar and was also rumored
to be living with the director for a while. After the success of
‘Parineeta’, Vidya signed three movies with Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Vidya has yet again managed to impress the audiences with her performance in
‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’.
The actresss also has other biggies like Mani Ratnam’s ‘Guru’, Sajid
Khan’s ‘Hey Baby’, Nikhil Advani’s ‘Salaam–E-Ishq’ and Rajkumar
Santoshi’s ‘Halla Bol’ in her kitty.
