Prominent Indian human rights activist and author, Arundhati Roy has said that recent protests in occupied territory have made it clear that the people of Kashmir want freedom from India.

"Kashmir needs "azadi" from India" - Arundhati Roy

Arundhati Roy in a media interview said that the persons who have followed people's movements and who have been in rallies could not dispute what people want. She said that people of Kashmir don't need anyone to represent them. They are representing themselves.

I totally disagree with Arundhati Roy's statement, But why should she be expelled from India? She is an Indian citizen and she could express her opinion. She could be prosecuted as per Law. What is this expelling from India business?

Has India expelled any one in the last 60 years?

Arundhati Roy needs to be expelled from India, her statement "Kashmir needs Azaadi from India & India needs azzadi from Kashmir " was definitely wrong.
But the rest of her speech does make sense where she is encouraging the Kashmiris to stand for themselves & stop relying on just India & Pakistan, since both India & Pakistan have failed all these years to give them democracy & a decent life. At this stage Kashmir's best interests are with India. since India is not a dominating military country, plus it is economically much stronger than Paksitan & Kashmiris have better chances of a better life with India than Paksitan. Kashmiris in the end will have to stick to one country for its own future & well-being. As a singular state Kashmir will perish under the hands of other bigger giants- US, Russia, or China who can clearly see a great natural resource plus a strategic military base in the Asian region. so kashmiris be aware....
