Sailee Sali a 12-Year-Old schoolgirl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself on Tuesday. The Class 6 student of Dominic Savio High School in Pant Nagar, Ghatkopar, had failed in the sixth standard for a second time but had managed to hide this from her parents, said senior inspector Nagesh Lohar of Pant Nagar police station.
According to the police, Sailee Sali had gone to school with her parents over a month ago to collect her final exam result. However, she went to her class alone. When she came out, she told her parents that she had passed.
when the school reopened in the second week of June for the new academic year, the girl started attending classes in the seventh standard class, and managed to continue doing so for almost a week without the teacher’s knowledge, said Lohar.
Sailee ran out of luck and her teacher realized that she had been attending classes in the seventh standard classroom instead of being in the sixth standard class. Her teacher told her to go to the sixth standard classroom, as she has failed. When Sailee’s parents learnt about this, they chided her, The girl was depressed that she had failed her examination a second time.
When there was nobody at home, the girl hanged herself with a rope,” said Lohar, adding that her parents found her hanging from a ceiling fan when they returned in the afternoon. The parents of the deceased were in a state of shock. Her neighbours said Sailee was an outgoing person and they never felt that she was hiding anything from them.
