Karan Johar apologizes for using 'Bombay' instead of 'Mumbai' in his upcoming 'Wake Up Sid', Karan Johar apologizes to chief of MNS Raj Thackeray for using the word Bombay instead of Mumbai.
The party activists stopped screening of his moves in the theatres on the order of him. The movie was Karan Johar's latest movie Wake Up Sid. Raj Thackeray said this is absolutely wrong and people of film industry must be careful while using the word Mumbai. He addressed to media after meeting Karan Johar in Mumbai in the former residence. He said this is not tolerable and he and his party always protest in future if this will happen. According to the news and Raj Thackeray statement, the protest against the movie has been withdrawn as Karan admitted he was mistaken and feel sorry for that. He also said Karan is ready to make necessary changes in the movie.
After hearing all this, Karan and Raj Drama, Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan termed Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar's apology to MNS chief Raj Thackeray as a 'filmi stunt'.
Karan apologized to firebrand MNS chief on using the word 'Bombay' instead of 'Mumbai' in his new film 'Wake Up Sid' was nothing but a puiblicity stunt.
Chavan further said that Maharashtra Government was capable of providing security to filmmakers, and emphasized that Karan Johar should have approached state police if he had any problem.
Earlier in the day, Karan Johar had a meeting with Thackeray at his residence in Mumbai, after MNS party activists stopped the screening of the film in some cinema halls here.
Where does this Karan stays man??? if he dont have such a common sense, i doubt how he became such a big director, it may be now more than 10 years when Bombay was changed to Mumbai, today if we ask a small school going kid he knows this, this is purly a publicity stunt to promote his film "Wake Up Sid". what a cheap publicity KARAN??? he should not be let of so easily..
