Pakistan and Sri Lanka, two teams which are now in good form, linked by tragedy, will contest the
ICC World Twenty20 England 2009 Final, a great stunning match to watch.
In Semi-finals Sri Lanka registered a comprehensive victory against the West Indies to book a spot in the final of the
ICC World T20 against Pakistan.
As batting first, the run machine Tillakaratne Dilshan hit a sublime unbeaten 96 to help Sri Lanka overcome a mid innings collapse and post 158 for five. And when they returned to defend the total, Angelo Mathews sent down a sensational first over, claiming three crucial wickets, and the West Indies could never really recover from the setbacks.
Where as Pakistan key player Shahid Afridi is desperate not to end up on the losing side for the third time in a row when he turns out for Pakistan in the World Twenty20 final at Lord's.
Shahid Afridi still remembers the the hurt he felt as a teenager 10 years ago when his team was mauled by Steve Waugh's all-conquering Australia in the World Cup final at the same venue in 1999.
The pain returned two years ago when India won the inaugural World Twenty20 title with a five-run win over Pakistan the final in Johannesburg, even though Afridi was named the most valuable player of the tournament, The powerful all-rounder, 29, says he will not tolerate another failure.
"We have to win this one," said Afridi after leading Pakistan into the final with an attacking half century and two top order wickets in one over in the semi-final against South Africa.
Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 19 runs in a Super Eights match earlier at this tournament but Sangakkara said: "We've played Pakistan many times before but in T20 you must take every game in isolation. Different players come into form at different times.
