In Madhya Pradesh, the ruling BJP has proved many things in one go by winning last month's Assembly elections.
Earlier, the BJP government in the state had become the first non-Congress government in Madhya Pradesh to complete a full five year term in office.
By winning the elections it created a record by becoming the first non-Congress government in the state to be elected for a second time in succession.
Till now, Madhya Pradesh had been dominated by the Congress which had ruled the state for most of the time.
The BJP win also proved that the people of Madhya Pradesh were not taken in by Congress charges of alleged corruption against the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and several of his ministerial colleagues.
The ruling party also showed that its claims of being responsible for development in Madhya Pradesh have been accepted by the people.
The Chief Minister has been saying time and again that the development done by the BJP in the last five years was much more than the development undertaken by the Congress in the last 50 years.
In their election manifestos, both the ruling BJP and the Opposition Congress had made a number of populist promises but here also the ruling party scored over the Congress as its promises appeared more credible to the people.
