We got to hear recently that Jacqueline Fernandez is making an almost fairytale entry into Bollywood with the fantasy flick forthcomming blockbuster
Aladin And The Mystery Of The Lamp. It's almost as if a genie has been watching over her and guiding her every step of the way. Jacqueline's journey to fame began in her teens, when she was just fourteen. Born to Sri Lankan mother and Indian father, Jacqueline was raised in Bahrain where she began her first stint on TV with a fitness show.
After doing her college from Australia she returned Sri Lanka to live with her grandparents and she turned a TV reporter for Sri Lanka's internal war. A big break came her way in 2006, when she won the Miss Sri Lanka crown and later on participated in Miss Universe pageant in Los Angeles.
Though she could not win the coveted tiara, Jacqueline found many new doors open for her. One was the door to Bollywood, which many of her well wishers suggested her to step in. Going has been great so far for Jacqueline, and she has also signed her second film 'Jaane Kahaan Se Aayi Hai'. But whether she manages to win the hearts of Indian movie buffs will be known this Friday when 'Aladin', starring
Ritesh Deshmukh, hits the theatres.
Anothere Hollywood big fame American singer and actress Jessica Simpson has won millions of new fans in India while filming her reality show in the country. The Dukes of Hazzard star has been pictured in Mumbai with a traditional bindi on her forehead and a henna tattoo on her hand. Simpson is in Mumbai shooting for her docu-series The Price of Beauty, which also features Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia.
The two were spotted partying at a Bollywood bash in Mumbai's exclusive Vie Lounge over the weekend. Neha Dhupia is the Indian beauty ambassador on Simpson's show, which takes the singer all over the world "to meet women, study local fashions, dietary fads and beauty regimes" and will air on VH1.
"I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect," Simpson says in a press release for the show. "I am really looking forward to discovering how beauty is perceived in different cultures and participating in some of the crazy things people do to feel beautiful. I know we will all learn a lot on this journey and I am so excited that VH1 is coming along on what I’m sure will be a wild ride," she adds.
Simpson is among a number of western singers and actors heading to India recently, including Julia Roberts who is currently filming Eat, Pray, Love in different parts of the country and Kylie Minogue who recently made her Bollywood debut in the Blue, singing and dancing to a curiously titled song called Chiggy Wiggy.
