1. What is it?
   MetroJoint is a social utility platform of interesting people locally and from all over the world, ready to share their experiences, interests, and friendship. We've taken the usually static world of socializing online and brought it to life. So whether you want to gupshup, share photos and videos, write blogs, keep in touch with friends, tell others about yourself or just get more attention, you're sure to find plenty of people waiting for you on MetroJoint.
   
   
   
2. How do I know who my friends' friends are?
   The idea is simple: You can browse/search through the Metro Network and can send a request for friendship to people whom you find of similar interest. If they accept your request, they will be added in your friends list and vice versa. Once they are in your friends list, you can browse through their friends (unless s/he has blocked so) and find friends-of-friends.
   
   
   
3. How can I date somebody?
   Hmmm, send a friend request 'Add as a friend' to the person whom you want to date. If s/he accepts, you can start communicating with him/her - send her a Gup message 'Gup Shup' or a private message or simply send a cheer to make emoticons speak for yourself!
   
   Our experience says that profiles with an original and clear photograph with completed profile details are more likely to get more attention than others. This way you enhance your chances of getting listed to 'Hot Profiles' and 'Popular Profiles' lists as well and thus reach to a larger audience.
   
   
   
4. Can I bring/invite my friends/contacts from other sites?
   Of course. 'Invite Friends' will help you invite your contacts or friends from other sites such as Yahoo, MSN Hotmail, AOL and Outlook Express as well. You can also manually write in your friends' email IDs to invite them.

5. How much does it cost?
   Are you kidding? It's FREE! We don't charge you a single penny for any of the service found on the entire MetroJoint.com network. If you find somebody asking you for some kind of subscription fees for or on behalf of MetroJoint, please bring it to our attention.

SECURITY

1. I found one profile/joint/blog/photo/video to be very abusive. What can I do about it?
   You will find a link 'REPORT ABUSE' on that profile. Just follow it. However, remember that if you go on reporting every other profile you view as 'abusive', we will mark your profile as suspicious and can put your account on MetroJoint in trouble if such is a case! So, please report abuse only in serious and valid cases.
   VALID CASES:
   - Profiles with unallowed/pornographic material (photos, videos or texts) displayed are most likely to be reported as abusive.
   - People who have created hate, racist, pornographic, child molesting related Joints (groups, communities), their profiles are a subject of abusive report.
   - Persons who try to hack into somebody's profiles (with inappropriate intruder activities) are likely to be reported as abusive.
   
   
2. Help! I'm getting messages from people I don't even like!
   Then why did you accept them as your friend in the first place?! See, that's the problem with some of those other social networking sites. It's all about "everyone is my friend!" With MetroJoint, you need to be a little more choosy about who your friends are because you will receive private messages [in your Private MailBox] from people who are in your friend list only.
   What you can do here is you can Block such Profiles (see below).
   
   
3. Can I block the person whom I don't want to see my profile or send me private messages?
   Of course. Go to that particular user's profile, you will find a link at the very bottom of his profile which should read: 'block user'. Try it out, but make sure you log in first. Remember if you block a certain member, s/he will no longer be able to communicate with you in any manner.
   
   
4. How can I stop receiving notification emails?
   Go to your Settings page and check on "I don't want to receive any notification mail".
   
   
5. I forgot my password, how do I retrieve it?
   Try to login, you will find a "forgot password" link below it. Follow it.
   
   
6. How do I change my password?
   From your Settings page.
   
   
7. I don't want others to see that I've viewed their profile recently. What should I do?
   Go to your Settings page and check on "I don't want others.....". But make sure that if you do this, you will also not be able to see who all visited your profile recently.
   
   
8. How can I un-friend with somebody?
   You will find a 'remove friend' link on the profile page of your friend whom you want to remove from your friends list. Simply follow that link and you're done.

1. How do I contact somebody?
   There are several ways you can communicate with others at MetroJoint:
   Gup shup- You scrap others and others scramble into your Gup shup.
   Mail Box - You can send/receive private messages in your Box to/from your friends only. Others can not send you private messages; similarly, you also can't send private messages to those who are not your friends.
   CHEERS - You let others know what you think of them in a quick and expressive way here.
   - OR -
   Simply comment to other members' photo albums, videos or blogs. This will ehance your chances of a healthy communication.
   
   
2. Why should I have to add my picture? Does it have to be a picture of mine?
   A picture on your profile is more likely to fetch lot more attention than a no-picture profile. We encourage that you use your own picture, however it is not mandatory at all.
   We have also gone a step beyond by allowing you to upload and share unlimited photos (photo album) with your friends and view it in a cool way with a slide-show facility.
   
   
3. How do I make it to the 'Hot Profiles' list on the homepage?
   There are several tangible and intangible reasons behind this selection:
   Some of them are:
   - Your profile is at least a week older and you've been quite active so far.
   - Your profile has a photo which is real.
   - You have not breached any Terms of Use of MetroJoint.com.
   
   We manually select 'Hot Profiles.
   
   
4. Can I embed videos from other sites such as YouTube, MetaCafe, iFilm etc.?
   Yes, you can. You can even embed slide shows from sites like Slide.com as well. In other words, you can embed any flash file and display it to your MyPage (your profile), your blog and Joints.
   
   
5. What is a Joint?
   A Joint is a community or a group of people having similar interests. This can be a social place for people sharing common locality, government, or have a common interest for something or the other.
   What you can do in a Joint:
   - Write articles/ posts (Forum), share and discuss whatever you feel like.
   - Create Polls and reply to those created by others. Run surveys, hold campaigns etc. 
   
   
6. Can I write my blogs here?
   Yes. As a member of MetroJoint, you have your own blogs where you can write unlimited number of posts on topics you like. Any member (even those who are not your friends) can comment on your web logs (blogs).
    
7. How can I make it to the 'Popular People' list on the homepage?
   'Popular Profiles' are automatically displayed based upon the total number of views those profiles have received during the last week (last 7 days including yesterday). 'Popular Profiels' process takes place in a real-time manner and we do not manually interpret it.  
   
   
8. How do I know who's online?
   From your 'My Page' you can see your friends list. Those who appear first are supposed to be online or the latest to be logged in.
   Furthermore, you can see who all visited your profile from your 'My Page' as well. This data is updated every 30 seconds - almost in a real time. So, now you know who's looking at you, eh!
   
   Or to simply view the list of latest 30 online members, go to Who's Online page.
   
   
9. How can I promote my profile/videos/photos/blog/joint?

10. Whenever I login, I am getting a message 'Your email account is not yet activated...' . What is this?
    If you've not activated your email account with which you've signed up, you will see this message. Activating your email ensures that you receive necessary service updates and announcements from MetroJoint. To do this, click on 'activate your email' and then check your email; click on the link provided (if you can not click for some reason, copy-paste the link code in your browser address bar and hit 'enter') and you're done. Make sure you're logged into MetroJoint while you do this.
    
    
11. I will put lot of links to my own website from my blogs on MetroJoint, hurray!
    We'll flag your blog as inappropriate, hurray! (TIP: Don't include more than 3 external links to get more visitors to your blog)
    
    
12. I have a lot of pornographic and adult videos which have nudity. I love MetroJoint, I'm going to upload them all here!
    But, we don't love such videos and content and neither do our visitors. Inappropriate and illegal content will be deleted and uploading such content to MetroJoint can get your account banned.
    
    
13. Hey, I just found one video which I think is not appropriate and should be removed!
    Please report it as 'abuse' and we'll delete. We try our best to keep MetroJoint clean and it is possible only with your help!

PAYMENTS

1. How can I earn money at MetroJoint?
   There are currently two ways you can make money at MetroJoint. (a) MJ Producer Rewards Program for Video Submitters (link to producer_rewards.php) - Upload an original video. Once people start viewing your video, you get paid! (b) Friends Referral Program - Invite your friends and earn money for each successful invitation!
   
   
2. When can I get paid?
   Once your account reaches a minimum of Rs. 500 or $10 (USD) (pending) balance, you're eligible to request for the payment. Our payout is flat 30 days; which means upon reaching the 500 Rs. or $10 pending balance, you get paid within 30 business days.
   
   
3. How can I request for the payment?
   You don't need to. We will automatically send you your payment via check (for Indian members) or to your paypal account (for International members).
   
   
4. How will you send me a check?
   Go to your 'Settings' page. Make sure you've filled up all the correct contact and payment information. Once you do this, just relax. We will take care of the rest!
   
   
5. Can I view my own videos and still get paid?
   You think we are idiots? ;-) If you manipulate viewing of your own videos which are nominated for the MJ Producer Rewards Program, your entire account can get cancelled.
   
   
6. But, I'm too smart - I will view my videos from another PC! What will you do then?
   You can impress your granpa by such techniques, not us! We record each visiting IP address.
   
   
7. How much can I earn at MetroJoint?
   There is no limit. If you have quality content to upload and good number of friends to refer and invite to MetroJoint, you may possibly consider leaving your job and work on your MetroJoint account full time! Imagine a job where you can work whenever you want to; a job you like; a task which is your passion and profession at the same time; and make more money than your friends who work 8 to 10 hours a day!
